“Winning is shared”, one of Coach Will Jones’ favorite mottos. At North Carolina A&T, everyone is a stakeholder in OUR program. From fellow student-athletes competing in other sports, to the student body, alumni, fans that help pack #ClubCorbett, and the State of North Carolina, we share our #AggiePride and success with you.
In Aggieland, we say “No to the Status Quo” on and off the basketball court. The North Carolina A&T basketball program lives by those words every day. Aggies are constantly challenging themselves and others to be better. North Carolina A&T basketball players mentor young students in public schools around the region while also finding ways to make positive change in East Greensboro and beyond. Representing the largest HBCU in the world comes with plenty of responsibility, which Aggies don’t take lightly.
When Will Jones took over the Aggie basketball program, players bought into his “Players 1st” philosophy immediately. The Blue & Gold won 12 MEAC regular season games, making Jones the winningest 1st year coach in the Aggie history. Two Aggies, Kameron Langley and Ronald Jackson, were named 1st Team All-MEAC selections and Coach Jones earned MEAC Coach of the Year honors.
Now more than ever HBCU basketball is in the spotlight. As North Carolina A&T transitions from the MEAC to the Big South, the Aggies will remain true to themselves and #ProtectTheBrand. From Naismith Hall of Famer Al Attles, to legendary coaches Cal Irvin, Don Corbett and Cy Alexander, to the MEAC’s All-Time Assists leader and current point guard Kameron Langley, it just means more when you don the Blue & Gold. North Carolina A&T basketball has and always will play “4 The Culture”
